URGENT: Removal of all kit from Rover
Dear all If you have any kit stored at Rover it MUST be removed by Monday 15 February. There is no extension to this date and any kit left will be removed and thrown away by Rover and you will be charged for them doing it. I appreciate this sounds a little harsh but these are the instructions we have received from them... Happy new year ;D Jen
Oxford softball social next week
Whether the going is soft or firm, the racing will be amusing at an all weather central Oxford venue next Thursday 11 June 8pm. First race at 8.30pm . n We are just confirming the venue (will be central Oxford) but please bring yourselves out with a bit of cash and an eye for the horses next Thursday . Those allergic to horses need not worry, we won't actually bring any into the room. n Charity to be announced shortly. n * 50p entry - goes directly to charity * 50p bets * Comedy commentary (think of karaoke John McCririck) * It won't be raining * You get to win a proportion of the bets placed - the rest goes to charity n Those going up to Rover for training - just bring yourself down to the race night as soon as you're finished. n Get the date in your diary now - and start saving those 50 pence pieces! n See you next Thursday (that's almost the name of one of the horses, right there!)
There will be a series of socials running throughout the 2015 season with teams being paired up to organise them.n First up is Vodafone and the Spirits who have organised a pub quiz!n Details are:n Pub Quiz - Wednesday 20 May, 7pm for a 7.30om start. nn n Teams can be made of up to six members and it's a bargain £2 per person to enter.n There will also be a raffle with some brilliant prizes including restaurant vouchers, a batting helmet and many more.n All money raised will go towards the GB U19 team which has four OSL players in the squad.n Get your team together and come and show off how much useless information you really know! nn
Annual General Meeting 13th August
Ahead of the league AGM next Tuesday 13th August (directly after games finish), please review the agenda and minutes of last year's meeting.n Could you circulate to your teams as appropriate. If you, or any of your team, would like to add any matters to the agenda, then let me know, or raise them in the bar. Also, please make every effort to be there - it's really important for the league that all teams are represented.n IMPORTANT - as every year, all of the exec positions are up for re-election.nHAVING THESE POSITIONS FILLED IS CRITICAL TO THE SMOOTH RUNNING OF THE LEAGUE. There are the following positions to be filled, which we will vote on the night:n Chair Vice-Chair Treasurer Secretary League/Players Rep Development Officer If you'd like to know more about what's involved, then feel free to grab any of the current exec (usually found skulking in the bar after games). Please don't grab too forcibly. Interested people - please email me, and we'll add to the voting for Tuesday 13th.n
Next Week Summer Festival of Softball
Its not a week off! Softball is ON . More details to come but its the Oxford Summer Softball Festival for the next two weeks Tues, 25th June and Tues, 2nd July - information will be sent out to the captains who will let you know.
