Season start delayed

Ninth team still in the balance. The exec has decided that the 2010 season will now start on May 18th, delayed by one week, at the BMW Rover Ground for the following reasons. 1. We are still helping out the new people and hope that they will form a 9th team 2. Unfortunately we don't enough volunteers for line marking this week on Wednesday May 5th. Therefore, there will be another week of Grapefruit games, or please organise amongst yourselves next Tuesday May 11th at Oatlands park. The final schedule and 2010 season details will be finalised by the exec by May 7th.

Umpiring courses

Two one day courses offered - need your participation. nnFollowing the captains meeting, the league has decided to run two one day umpiring courses rather than the two day BASU course, we will run this at the end of the season. The reason is to get as many people from the league through a basic course first. nnWe will need sufficient numbers to run the courses since we will be applying to BSF for a development grant to cover the costs. nnI will also need help with both of the days as we will need a projector and screen and setup on both days etc, as I am still unable to drive and carry very much etc . nnI will need to know numbers by the close of business on Monday April 20th. nThe dates are Sunday April 26th and Saturday May 9th, we are going to hold the course at the BMW Rover sports and social club. The courses are the same but are all day, they will give everyone the basics of umpiring with some practise outside in the afternoon. Mike Jennings from BASU will run the courses for us, some of you may know him from last year.
